2015 FINAL HUDDLE REPORT MOCK

Posted by Mike Harman on Wednesday, April 29, 2015
1) Tampa Bay: Jameis Winston, QB, FSU

This should be no shocker. He is by far the best QB in the draft, and is arguably the 2nd quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning. He has a football knowledge that is spectacular, and he understand the game pre-snap better than a lot of pros.

There are a couple of concerns that I have with him though. He does only have two years of college experience which will turn some teams off. I of course would love to have him not start week 1 in the NFL, but that ...

Final Huddle Report Submission Mock

Posted by Mike Harman on Thursday, May 8, 2014
Here it is, my entry mock for the Huddle Report. For the first time ever I will dive in and have three trades projected in the draft. I usually hate adding trades into mocks, but each and every trade I offer is a scenario where I could see the player taken at the team's original spot.

1) Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

And with the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select the biggest risk out there. I understand why the Texans would go against taking a qu...

2014 Mock Draft Round 1

PRE-COMBINE MOCK DRAFT

Updated 2/20

1) Houston Texans: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State

The Texans scare me. They have needed a young high potential QB forever, but it also took the team four years to draft a guy across from Andre Johnson. In today's mock I will start with the least likely of the QB prospects to rise to the top in Carr.

He is the most experienced guy, and the one that could help the team win now the best. If his brother hadn't busted on the Texans (a lot of the fault goes to the tea...

FINAL 2013 NFL MOCK DRAFT

Posted by Mike Harman on Wednesday, April 24, 2013
FIRST ROUND

1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

Sure there is a chance that this pick could be Eric Fisher, Sharrif Floyd, or Dion Jordan. But the first overall pick will more than likely be Joeckel.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dion Jordan, DE/LB, Oregon

The consensus pick coming out right now is Eric Fisher, and I am really tempted to mock him there, especially since there is a general bias that Fisher if one of the two great players in the draft. But I just have a hard time of belie...

2013 Keller & Richardson Collaboration Mock Draft

Posted by Matt Keller and Ben Richardson on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 In : Richardson and Keller
Recently two of our featured writers got together and collaborated on a mock draft together. When on person makes a mock draft you tend to see a lot of the same picks come together, but every collaboration brings out a lot of fresh and new scenarios to watch for. With each pick I will give my own analysis to their picks.

1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

Harman: No shock with this pick. The Chiefs need some line help if they want to give Alex Smith any chance.

2. Jacksonville Ja...

2013 MOCK ROUND 1

Posted by Mike Harman on Wednesday, April 25, 2012
VERSION 4.0 (4/22)

*** I rarely put in a trade to mock drafts, but this is the one draft that I think could play out should trades occur. Not only will I mock the trades, but I will explain what the trade is for.

 FIRST ROUND

1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckal, OT, Texas A&M

Whomever the Chiefs take first in the draft won't quite make sense. Why take a QB when they just traded for Alex Smith? Why take a nose tackle when they drafted 350 pound Dontari Poe 11th overall last year? Why take an offe...

HUDDLE REPORT 1-ROUND CONTEST SUBMISSION

Posted by Mike Harman on Friday, April 20, 2012
(OTHER MOCK)  ROUND 1        ROUND 2        ROUND 3        ROUND 4

RICHARDSON'S MOCK

Each and every year THE HUDDLE REPORT takes the mock drafts of every legit source on the web and compounds them into a best of the best mock contest. You get scores for having a guy predicted in the first round, and more points for having a guy go at the projected spot (not to team but to draft spot). Here is my submission for 2012 which will look a little different than my mock draft. I also am part of the HR...

BEN RICHARDSON'S 2012 MOCK DRAFT

Posted by BENJAMIN JAMES RICHARDSON III on Thursday, April 5, 2012
1) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

This is a no brainer. One of the best, if not the best, QB prospects to come out in the last decade. Luck is a once in a lifetime prospect that cannot be passed up.

2) Washington Redskins (from STL): Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

Freak athlete who has the character and football IQ to match. There is a genuine argument around the league about who is a better prospect, RG3 or Luck.

3) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC

Like Luck, Kalil is a onc...

ROUND 2

1) St. Louis Rams: Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State

Worthy is an interesting prospect that plays like a top-12 pick sometimes while also disappearing like a 4th rounder as well.

2) Indianapolis Colts: Shea McClellin, DE/LB, Boise State

McClellin is a hot prospect right now that could go in the top-20, but he could also get washed down to this range by other pass rushers.

3) Minnesota Vikings: Alshon Jeffery, WR, South ...

2011 NBA Mock Draft

Posted by Mike Harman on Sunday, June 19, 2011
If there is one thing that I have learned while covering the NFL Draft over the last two years is that it doesn't matter how much, thought, research, and care that you put into a mock draft. Sure many get the first picks right, but nobody can truly anticipate trades, reaches, and falling stars in the mock draft. Here is my honest attempt at an NBA mock draft through the mind of an NFL wannabe scout. I hope to soon have some actual NBA, MLB, NHL, and other sports coverage from people

2012 Mock Draft Round 1

ROUND 1        ROUND 2        ROUND 3        ROUND 4

RICHARDSON'S MOCK

1) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

No question here. I still think that the Colts would have potentially benefited more by trading the pick for a kings ransom and drafting a guy to develop behind Manning, but Andrew Luck isn't a bad option.

2) Washington Redskins (from STL): Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

Another no brainer here. The Skins traded everything to get Griffin, so hopefully they use their late picks ...

Round 2 and 3 Redraft

Posted by Mike Harman on Friday, April 29, 2011
The first round is over, and it is time to reflect and re-draft for the teams!

1)    New England (from Carolina):  Brooks Reed, DE/LB, Arizona

This is a little bit of a reach, but if the Pats don't trade this pick then they will be taking someone they love. The team traded the pick that turned into Clay Matthews a few years ago, and Brooks Reed is Clay 2.0 so it could be an interesting pick.

2)  Buffalo Bills: Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada

The Bills reportedly like C...

3-Round 2011 FINAL MOCK

Posted by Mike Harman on Tuesday, April 26, 2011
**I have created a 3-round final mock draft. This draft is much different than the 7-round mock that I released last week. This mock was created so that you can see a different side of the mock draft predictions from what you have often seen in the media. Every single year we have guys go earlier than expected, and other years we have guys fall.

After viewing this mock, I do ask that you check out the mock from last week which will be linked after. Some of the picks will be different througho...

Mock Draft With Trades

Posted by Mike Harman on Monday, April 4, 2011
Every single draft analyst out there has their own mock draft these days, and whether you look at one mock, or 100 you will notice that many of them are similar. The mock draft is a good tool to see which team will take who in the upcoming draft, but the best mock drafters rarely get even 15 picks correct. That is because of surprises, but because of trades. I have compiled a mock draft with some potential trades for the upcoming draft. I have seven 1st round trades which is a little high, bu...

Mike's Mock Round 3

ROUND 3

1) Carolina Panthers: Greg Little, WR, UNC

I would normally not be a fan of surrounding your 1st overall pick who has questionable character with another guy with questionable character, but Greg Little's value here at the top of the third round is pretty good. He would also help to push the rest of the team's underproducing receivers to their fullest.

2) Cincinnati Bengals: Quan Sturdivant, MLB, UNC

The Bengals need to find someone that can rep...

33. New England Patriots- Mikel Leshoure RB Illinois.

The Patriots nab the next best back to Ingram in the draft here. Danny Woodhead was serviceable and none of the other backs are that good. They need to be able to run the ball, especially in the playoffs, and Leshoure will give them that option.

34. Buffalo Bills- Justin Houston DE/OLB Georgia.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, Andrew Luck went back to school. I figure with Rob Rivera coming in to be the head coach he will defiantly want to revamp that d-line, which is awful. Fairley had a great championship game and would provide an immediate upgrade for the Panther D.

2. Denver Broncos- Patrick Peterson CB LSU.

ROUND 2

1)    New England (from Carolina):  Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State

I would be willing to bet that the Patriots will trade this pick and I am about 85% certain about it. But for the sake of mocking, Sherrod is the BPA and fits a huge need.

2)  Buffalo Bills: Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada

The Bills reportedly like Cam Newton's potential, and in many ways Kaepernick matches up to Newton. Kaepernick also has arm strength which should set him apart from P...

Mike's Mock Round 1

Round 1

1) Carolina Panthers: Cameron Newton, QB, Auburn

Draftmaven, com was the first website to mock Cam Newton first overall back in November and if you have been watching draft coverage since the season ended you would have seen Newton jump from a 2nd round pick to a 1st round pick to the top overall pick in many scout's eyes. I absolutely mean to toot my own horn on this one, but Newton is still not a lock. The team's new coach Ron Rivera also is coming from a team ...
