A few days ago it was reported throughout the country that the Rams are entertaining the possibility of trading the 2nd overall pick in the draft to a team (Dolphins, Browns and Redskins are rumored) looking to gobble up Robert Griffin III. While this should come to no surprise to anyone, it is a very realistic possibility that it could happen.

First off the Rams aren't going to be taking Robert Griffin in the draft because they have too much tied to Sam Bradford despite how poor of a year he had. I am also not sold that the team is going to be looking to take Matt Kalil to be a franchise left tackle, because they have spent a first and a second round pick on the position over the last three years. Despite the fact that neither looks to be the option, I think the team would rather trade back to address other positions if they are able to pick up value for later on in the draft.

The other viable option for the Rams with the 2nd overall pick is Justin Blackmon who is a HUGE value, but I'm not sold that he is worth a 2nd overall pick, especially in a draft that is strong at receiver. The Rams will be looking to get out of that pick, and I think that there is enough hype about Griffin that they will get good value. Based on the Trade Value Chart and a general knowledge of trades here is what I think the Rams could get:

BROWNS: Trade the 4th overall pick, 22nd overall pick (from Falcons) and Seneca Wallace for Rams' 2nd overall pick

REDSKINS: Trade 6th overall pick, 2nd round pick, 4th round pick for the Rams' 2nd overall pick

DOLPHINS: Trade 8th overall pick, 2nd round pick, 4th round pick for the Rams' 2nd overall pick

SEAHAWKS: Trade 12th overall pick, 2nd round pick, 2013 1st round pick for 2nd overall pick

* Based on general need and the price to give up I think that the Seahawks will be out of the sweepstakes. I also think that the Browns will wait it out and hope that they will get Griffin to fall to them. The Redskins won't be scared to pull the trigger, but the more I look at it, the more that I think the Dolphins will be willing to do whatever they have to do to get RG3.
